A few weeks ago I put out to Instagram that I was looking for some book lovers to do a little photoshoot. Within 24 hours I had a little shoot booked with a couple who are getting married in June. 

Our Upper West Side engagement photography session began at one of the neighborhood’s charming independent bookstores, creating intimate portraits that captured their shared passion for literature. The historic architecture and warm storefront lighting provided the perfect backdrop for these Manhattan engagement photos.

The magic of New York City street photography led us to the iconic Zabar’s, a true Upper West Side landmark. The vintage signage added that quintessential NYC character to their engagement pictures. We then wandered into Central Park, where the natural beauty offered stunning backdrops for romantic couple portraits.

As a professional photographer in NYC, I embrace the spontaneous energy of the city. While shooting in new locations presents its challenges, it’s this spirit of adventure and adaptability that makes New York City engagement photography so dynamic and rewarding.
