Just the two of you, somewhere you love, documented honestly.
I’m a New York City engagement photographer specializing in relaxed, documentary-style sessions that feel like real life, not a photoshoot. We can wander through Central Park, walk the streets of SoHo, explore Brooklyn, or stay right at home. The location matters less than how it feels. By the time your wedding day arrives, it won’t feel new — it’ll feel easy. Because the best engagement photos don’t come from perfect poses — they come from being present together.
New York City is one of the greatest places in the world to shoot an engagement session — and not just because of the iconic backdrops. It's because every neighborhood tells a completely different story. Central Park at golden hour. The cobblestones of DUMBO with the bridge in the distance. A quiet SoHo side street on a Sunday morning. Your own apartment in Brooklyn, with the coffee on and the cats underfoot.
I shoot engagement sessions all over Manhattan and Brooklyn — and wherever else feels most like you. Some couples come with a specific vision. Others just know they want photos that feel real. Both are exactly right.
My approach is documentary. I'll give you gentle direction when it helps — "walk toward me," "whisper something in their ear" — but mostly I want you to just be together. The camera handles the rest. By the end of an hour together, most couples tell me they forgot I was there. That's the goal.
Beyond the photos themselves — which, yes, are great for save-the-dates and your wedding website — an engagement session is really about getting comfortable together in front of a camera before the highest-stakes day of your life. By the time your wedding day arrives, we've already done this. You know how I work, I know how you move, and the whole thing feels easy.
Think of it as a rehearsal. A really beautiful, golden-hour rehearsal in one of the greatest cities in the world.
